DIY: Pimp My Cozy Coupe

Last Saturday we cruised our neighborhood garage sale for a little dumpster divin’.

We found one of those OG Cozy Coupes like the ones we actually rolled around in as kids back in the day.

We decided to give it a fresh new paint job, fresh new wheels, and of course a California license plate as we had a little DIY party in the front yard.

If you want to up-recycle your old beater coupe, first off good luck, we gotcha. Check the stuff bellow and have fun!

How To Pimp My Cozy Coupe:

Step 1: Disassemble the car.

Step 2: Clean off all dirt with Clorox wipes.

Step 3: Sand down the old paint.

Step 4: Prime all pieces of the car with Zinsser Bullseye 1-2-3 spray primer.

Step 5: Paint the body of the car with Rustoleum gloss in “Light Yellow”.

Step 6: Paint the roof top of the car in Rustoleum gloss white.

Step 7: Using blue painters tape, mask off the areas around where you want it to be white detailed areas. Then spray with white Rustoleum gloss.

Step 8: Apply thin automotive chrome trim to accent the white areas and even around the key ignition!

Step 9: Apply replacement custom decals! We used TheToyRestore, a local artist on Etsy! The decals are high quality UV resistant and waterproof … perfect for off roading.

Step 10: Cruise the neighborhood while blasting “Ridin” by Chamillionaire ft. Krayzie Bone!
